Patricia Cottrell Claytor, 53, of Gainesville, GA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 20, 2015. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Tricia was born January 20, 1962, in Charleston, SC to Don James and Kunigunde "Connie" Bayer Cottrell. She attended Gainesville High School, owned and managed Claytor Properties for twenty years. Tricia had a larger than life personality, and always lit up a room with her smile and laughter. Tricia had a big heart who made others feel special and accepted. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and being on the lake. But above all, she loved her children and grandchildren. She thrived on charitable acts of kindness to family and strangers alike.
She is survived by the love of her life, Billy Claytor, and their five children: James, Carrianne and her husband Barry, Heather, Taylor, and Jeanie. Her grandchildren: Hayden, Kendall, Reid, Owen, Eli, Emerson, Harper, and Stella. Her mother, Connie Cottrell, all of Gainesville. Brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Lynn Cottrell, of Dahlonega; sisters, Christine Cottrell, of Gainesville, Terry and Derrick Leming, of Lawrenceville, and Kathy and Chuck Moore, of Savannah. Her mother-in-law, Peggy Claytor, sisters-in-law, Betty Freeman, and Janet Claytor, and their husbands, Mike and Jason, all of Gainesville. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and extended family in Gainesville and Germany. She is preceded in death by her father, Don Cottrell, and father-in-law, Eddie Claytor, also of Gainesville.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 24, at Little-Davenport Funeral Home, 355 Dawsonville Hwy, Gainesville, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Alta Vista Cemetery. The Rev. Danny Jarrard will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, from 6-8 p.m.
