Jerry Smith

Mr. Jerry Smith, age 73, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Kathleen Johnson Smith.  He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Margaret Compton Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Jim Mantione, Flowery Branch, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Jill Smith, Flowery Branch, GA, and Andy and Jennifer Smith, Flowery Branch, GA; thirteen grandchildren, Skylar DeRose, Ashley Patton, Heather Smith, Jerry and Megan Smith, Eddie Smith, Alex Smith, Andon Smith, Ava Smith, Logan Sivils, Lauren Sivils, Jordon Mantione, and Justina Mantione; great grandchildren, Reagan Cannon, Avery Patton, Greyson Sivils, and Brantley Patton; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Danny and Sherry Smith, Buford, GA; sister, Glenda Smith, Buford, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Mr. Smith was born December 22, 1941 in Buford, GA.  He was a 1960 graduate of Buford High School.  He retired from General Motors Assembly Plant after forty-one years of service.  He was a member of the U.A.W. Local 10 and a member of New Bethany Baptist Church, Buford, GA.  He coached little league sports in Hall County from 1969 to 2004.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and a mentor to many youth.  He was a devoted Christian.  Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Smith, Rev. Danny Ashworth, and Rev. Billy Compton officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt.
