Marquez Martin

Marquez Martin, age 85, of Payne Hill Drive; Clayton, GA died peacefully June 11, 2015.

Marquez was born in Hart County, GA, and was the daughter of the late M. T. and Mary Reynolds Lankford.  She was a homemaker, member of Clayton First United Methodist Church, the Grace Green Guild of United Methodist Women, Clayton Music & Literary Club and the Girls’ Lunch Bunch.  She also founded and taught Happyland Kindergarten in her home for 13 years.  She later served as secretary for Clayton Baptist Church.

Surviving are her loving husband Jack D. Martin; son Jimmy Martin of Elizabethton, TN; daughter and son in law, Mary Ann and Steve Littrell of Persimmon; grandsons, Jacob Littrell (JJ) of Belmont, NC and Will Littrell of Gainesville, GA; great grandson Ethan Daniel Littrell of Belmont, NC. She is also survived by her niece June Lankford Fleming (Larry) of Hart County, GA and nephew Roger White of Austell, GA. 

The family would like to thank the excellent staff of Traces of Tiger for the care and compassion that they provided for Marquez and her family.  We would also like to thank Doris Edwards and Olivia Dixon of Pruitt-Health Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion that they provided throughout this journey.
