Tammy Townsend, 55, of Cumming passed away Thursday June 11, 2015 at her residence following a sudden illness.
Born December 1, 1959, she was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. Tammy was a graduate of Forsyth County High School and was employed by the Forsyth County Board of Education where she worked at Haw Creek Elementary School. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and possessed a great love for family and life. She was also loved by all who knew her. She loved animals, especially her companion, Coco.
Surviving are her parents, Tommy and Lula Townsend, Cumming; sister and brother in law, Lisa and Danny Duff, Cumming; brother and sister in law, Joel and Melanie Townsend, Cumming; nieces and nephews, Dana and Brendan Murphy, Darren and Kim Duff; great niece, Amy Duff; great nephews, Terence Murphy, Connor Murphy; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Sunday June 14, 2015 at 1 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Brody Hughes and Rev. Rodney Pilcher will officiate. Interment will follow in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 until 8 at the funeral home.
