Charles E Stephens

Charles E. Stephens, 84, of Oakwood passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Halcyon Hospice Atlanta following an extended illness.

                Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Mike Taylor will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 7, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

                Mr. Stephens was born on April 24, 1931 in Chicopee to the late Charles Lewis and Rosa Mae Stephens. He served in the United States Army. He was retired from General Motors and was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Ella Jean Farmer.

                Mr. Stephens is survived by his daughter, Linda (George) Rich of Cornelia; son, Robert (Mariann) Stephens of Dawsonville; grandsons, Joshua Stephens, Timothy Sweeney, Christopher Sweeney, Michael Rich and William Rich; 13 great grandchildren and sister, Evelyn Dyer of Oakwood.
