Robert Ernest Carter

Mr. Robert Ernest Carter, age 86 of 7901 W. Currahee Street, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at his residence.

A son of the late Henry Candler and Myrtle Holland Carter, he was born February 8, 1929 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived a greater part of his life.  He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, retired from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources in the Law Enforcement Division with 30 years of service and was a member of the VFW and Zebulon Baptist Church. 

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Betty Pritchett Carter of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Tassie and Don Gomez of Toccoa; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Cheryl Carter of Toccoa; grandchildren, Von and Michelle Ivester, Dasha and Gilbert Martin, Christy and Jason Ricci, Jodi and Matt Hicks and Darren and Jody Gomez great-grandchildren,  Brody and Kakla Martin, Lucas and Gage Ricci, Reese and Kohen Hicks, Charlotte and Chris Gomez and Talan Grafton;; brother, Royce Carter of Toccoa. 

Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 3, 2 PM at the Stephens Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Greg Gunn, Charles Deal, Steve Lathan, Gage Ricci, Bob Frame and Jimmy Howard. 

The family will be at the home and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 PM to 8 PM.

Interment will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Robert Ernest Carter.
