Catherine “Cathy” Pritchett Gihl

Catherine “Cathy” Pritchett Gihl, of Rabun Gap, Georgia, lost her long fight with cancer and passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. 

She was born on November 2, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Pritchett.  In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by her husband Jack T. Gihl and her brother Robert Pritchett and her sister Shirley Mifflin of Duquoin, Illinois. 

She is survived by her three sons and their families; Nick Gihl of Elmhurst, IL and his wife Julie, and their daughters Calie, Emma and Lillie and son, Jackson.  Phillip Gihl of Springfield, IL. And Gene Gihl of Tiger, GA, and his wife Tracy and their daughter, Jordan.

Cathy worked for Ridgecrest Hospital as a Nurse for 28 years.  After her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund at P.O. Box 485 in Rabun Gap, GA 30568 in memory of Cathy Gihl.

A Memorial Service will be held at Beck Funeral Home, Tuesday June 16, 2015 from 2-3 p.m. with the Reverend Chuck Stutsman officiating.
