Gladyce Marcelle Parcell

Gladyce Marcelle Parcell, 94, currently of Gainesville, GA, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died on 26 May 2015, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center after three bouts of pneumonia.
Born as Gladys Marcelle Dennis in Flint, Michigan on 12 May, 1921, Mrs. Parcell was one of six children, and the only daughter of William Charles Dennis and Lillian Mae Gage. Her brothers Ralph Leslie Dennis, Douglas Wallace Dennis, Marshall Francis Hamilton, Charles Joseph Dennis, and Elmer Dennis, preceded her in death.
           
After graduating from Marion High School in 1940, Gladyce moved to Saginaw, MI, and worked as an office manager for a roofing company and during WWII, She worked at the Saginaw Steering Gear Division of General Motors producing M1 Carbine receivers for the war effort. It was in Saginaw where she met Bernard George Parcell and they were married on 13, November 1948. After Mr. Parcell joined the CIA in 1952, he and Gladyce were assigned to Japan for two years and to the Philippines for four years.
           
After returning from the Philippines, Gladyce lived in Rockville, MD for a year and finally made a home in Falls Church, VA in 1962. During her time in Falls Church, she was a homemaker and an employee of Lord & Taylor. After Mr. Parcell’s retirement in 1973 they moved to Frankenmuth, MI where they lived until they moved to Florida. After a short stay in Melbourne, FL, they moved to Ormond Beach where they lived for the next 20 years.
           
On 25 January 2007, her husband of over 58 years passed away and in 2009, she moved in wither he son and daughter-in-law, in their new home in Gainesville, GA.
           
Mrs. Parcell was known as an avid genealogist and produced over 20 family history notebooks which she freely gave away to member of the family.
           
Mrs. Parcell is survived by her son Michael B. Parcell, his wife Diane L. Parcell of Gainesville, GA and her granddaughter Natalie L. Parcell of Fairfax, VA.
           
No public services were held. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Special Operations Warrior Foundation
