Wiley “Dub” Stephens, age 74, of Alto, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015.
Born on April 14, 1941, in Hall County, he was a son of the late Guy and Daisy Barrett Stephens. Mr. Stephens was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills. After retirement he worked with Hornes Carriage Horse and Buggy in Helen. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles and traveling.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Stephens was also preceded in death by two infant brothers.
Survivors include wife of 33 years, Cindy Stephens of Alto; son, Scott Stephens of Baldwin; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Joel Fry of Mt. Airy; step-daughter, Taryn Jones of Mt. Airy; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Linda Stephens of Alto; sister and brother-in-law, Gay and Fred Lee Ausburn of Alto; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; nephew, Kevin Stephens; niece, Misty Hulsey.
Memorial services are 11 am Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Gerald Adamson officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
