Kristi Renee Quintana Maxwell

Kristi Renee Quintana Maxwell, age 43 of Commerce, Georgia entered into rest Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Peachtree Christian hospice with her husband at her side.  Kristi was born to Patrick and Donna Wilson Quintana on April 15, 1972.  Kristi grew up in Dry Pond on the land her great grandparents and grandparents farmed.  After graduating from Jackson County High School, Kristi lived and worked in Athens until she married Russ Maxwell on September 5, 1998 in Athens.  She moved to Carrollton, Georgia where she and Russ worked for Southwire.  Kristi came home to be a full time mom when their first child, Isabel, was born.  James Patrick, John-Paul, Caroline and baby Henry were added to the family over the years.  Kristi loved being a mom.  Her children were the love of her life.

Kristi fought courageously for over a year to defeat the rare, aggressive cancer that took her life.  When she was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma, Kristi moved with the children to her parents’ home in Dry Pond where Donna and Pat lovingly, meticulously and without ceasing took care of her and the five children.  Her youngest child, Henry was only seven months old.

Kristi is survived by her husband, Russ; her children Isabel, James Patrick, John-Paul, Caroline and Henry (all at home); her parents, Pat and Donna Quintana, her brother, Mark (Rebecca) Quintana and their children, Noah, Laura, Ian and Aaron; father-in-law, Scott Maxwell; brother-in-law, Matt Maxwell (Kay) and sister-in-law, Leigh Combs (Kevin), uncles, cousins and special friend, Rhonda (Don) Pippins.

Kristi was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Raford and Agnes Wilson, her paternal grandparents, Merced and Flora Quintana and her mother-in-law, Linda Maxwell.

Visitation will be 6 -8 P.M. Monday, May 25, 2015 at Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, Georgia.  The funeral mass will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at St. Catherine Laboure’ Catholic Church, 180 Elrod Road, Jefferson, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the educational fund for the Maxwell children, C/O Russ Maxwell, 602 Raford Wilson Road, Commerce, Georgia  30529.

Interment will be at the Jackson Memorial Park Commerce Georgia.
