Joanne Gibbs Phillips

Mrs. Joanne Gibbs Phillips, age 70 of Gainesville, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at her residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend John Kinsey will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 6 - 9 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Phillips was born April 30, 1945 in Toccoa, Georgia to the late T. C. Gibbs and Lizzie Griffin Gibbs.  She was retired from Refrigerated Sewing Plant and was of the Baptist Faith.  Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Dorothy Lord and Pete Gibbs and her brother, Freeman Gibbs.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband, Marvin Lamar Phillips of Gainesville, her daughters, Beverly Rademacher and Shelia Chandler, both of Gainesville, her sons & daughters-in-law, Dwayne & Linda Phillips and Billy & Tammy Phillips, all of Gainesville, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sisters & brothers-in-law, Alene & Danny Evans of Lithonia, Georgia and Judy & Buford Allen of Cleveland, Georgia and her brothers & sisters-in-law, Ted & Karen Gibbs of Flowery Branch, Freddy & Cathy Gibbs of Flowery Branch and Speedy & Deborah Gibbs of Toccoa, Georgia.
