Mr. Larry Daryle Worley, Sr., age 83 of 354 Scenic Drive, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at his residence.
A son of the late Willie Gill and Alma Page Worley, he was born December 8, 1931 in Curtis Bay, Maryland. He lived in Richmond, Virginia for most of his life and in Toccoa since 1985. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the National Association of Teachers of Singers, American Choral Directors, American Musicological Society and the Georgia Music Educators Association. He taught for 42 and half years and was retired from Toccoa Falls College as a Music Professor. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Curtis Worley and Ivory Elwood Worley and by a sister, Carolyn Margarite Tyler.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Lois Cox Worley; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie Jeanne and Norman Crocker of Akron, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Daryle Worley, Jr. and wife Jean of Warrenville, Illinois; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 21, 11 O’clock AM at First Baptist Church Sanctuary with Dr. Daryle Worley, Jr. and The Reverend David Ritcey officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Daryle Worley, III, Norman Crocker, Kyle Crocker, Ryan Crocker, Ross Crocker and Evan Crocker.
The family will be at the home on Scenic Drive and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 PM to 8 PM and on Thursday at the First Baptist Memorial Chapel from 10 AM until time for the service.
Entombment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Mausoleum with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. L. Daryle Worley, Sr.
