Joyce Jeanene Young

Mrs. Joyce Jeanene Young, 81 of Gainesville died Sunday May 17, 2015 at her residence.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mrs. Young was the daughter of the late Marvin "Pat" and Alma Ransom Flanagan.  She was retired from the Hall County School System where she had worked for 30 years in the lunchroom at North Hall High School and Middle School.  Mrs. Young was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Stanley and Tabitha Young, Phyllis and Ronnie Brookshire, Stacy and Darlene Young, Chris and Cynthia Young, Connie Young, all of Gainesville; grandchildren, Brandon and Tyler, Jason and Carrie, Heather and Kevin, Chase, Jessica, Jennifer and Josh, 15 great grandchildren also survive; sisters, Shirley Mayfield, Gainesville; Judy Franks, Commerce; sister-in-law, Carolyn Dills; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nancy and Blanton Young; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Melvin and Iris Young, all of Gainesville. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Young is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Alvin Grady Young.

Funeral services will be held at  1:00 p.m. Wednesday May 20, 2015 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Baker will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. and again Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
