Lendon (Duffy) Ivey, age 86 of Cumming, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015. He was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Ivey retired from USI after many years of service. Duffy enjoyed farming and the outdoors. Mr. Ivey was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Bernice Corn Ivey; parents, Charlie and Josie Ivey; brothers, Braskin (Rabbit) Ivey, Emmett (Pete) Ivey; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank Cornell, George and Doris Corn, Weldon and Dean Corn, Amon Corn, Pierce and Kate Corn, Bobbie Corn and Lillian Ivey.
Survivors include his children, James (Becky) Ivey of Cumming, Jack (Lisa) Ivey of Cumming; grandchildren, Russ and Alan Ivey; brother and sister-in-law, Eugene (Bud) and Marie Ivey of Gainesville; sister, Gladys Cornell of Gainesville; sister-in-law, Hazel Corn of Cumming; brother-in-law, Ernest Corn of Cumming; special caregiver, Tabatha Jones; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 20th at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Bennett and Rev. Ruel Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Wednesday from 9:00 am until hour of the service.
