Andrew Wilmot Shealy, III, age 70 of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 in the comfort of his home.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville. Dr. Steve Brown and Dr. Terry Walton will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Interment will be held Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Elmwood Cemetery in Columbia, SC.
Wilmot was born August 20, 1944 in Columbia, South Carolina. He was a 1962 Graduate of Clinton High School followed by a year at Georgia Military College. He then received his Bachelor of Business Administration in June of 1967 from Georgia Southern College. He pursued a long successful career in the poultry industry serving several major companies. His generosity extended to the Humane Society, where he dedicated countless hours to support his passion for animals.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Wilmot Shealy, Jr.
Wilmot is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jayne Wilder Shealy of Gainesville; his mother, Vera Gaskin Shealy of Clinton, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Torrence Shealy of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Mary Margaret Shealy of Atlanta, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Julia Shealy of Mount Pleasant, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Steve Eubanks of Flowery branch, GA; son, Bill Hardman of Gainesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Brooke and Brian Margerum of Baltimore, MD; sons, Stuart Hardman of Greenville, SC and Stephen Hardman of Gainesville, GA; niece, Grace Shealy; nephew, Trevor Shealy, both of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren Christine and Sydney Eubanks, Will and Julian Shealy, Victoria, Parker and Scarlett Margerum and Raleigh Hardman; beloved companion, Samuel Shealy (Boykin Spaniel). And a number of other family and friends also survive.
