Velma Darracott England, age 87, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, Charles E. England; parents, Thomas Asberry and Dollie Ora Darracott; sisters, Faye Smith and Virginia Grier; brother-in-law, Roger Smith; and niece, Phyllis Floyd. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, J. Randy and Donna England, Jasper, GA, and Timothy W. and Teresa England, Buford, GA; grandchildren, William and Molly England, Nelson, GA, Lee and Elizabeth Johnson, Holly Springs, GA, Connor England, Buford, GA, and Caden England, Buford, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Noah (Clyde) Darracott, Flowery Branch, GA; brother-in-law, Herbert Grier, Buford, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. England was born April 8, 1928 in Cumming, GA. She was a Forsyth County native but spent the last sixty years of her life in Buford, GA. She was a long-time member of Harmony Baptist Church, Buford, GA. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church, 2988 North Bogan Road, Buford, GA 30519 with Rev. Mike Soop and Rev. Farrell Presley officiating. Interment and graveside service will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA, with Rev. Brian Satterfield officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. and Monday, May 18, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Velma Darracott England may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, c/o Gary Elkins, 4326 Old Hamilton Mill Road, Buford, GA 30519.
