Robert “Bobby” Holbrook

Funeral services for Robert “Bobby” Holbrook, age 82, of Clarkesville will be held Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the Hills Crossing Baptist Church.   Rev. Walter Singletary will officiate with interment to follow the service in the Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites. 

Mr. Holbrook passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 following an extended illness. 

Born in Stephens County on December 31, 1932, Mr. Holbrook was the son of the late Vern and Marie Ivester Holbrook.  Mr. Holbrook was retired from Standard Telephone Company with 32 years of loyal service.  He later was a bus driver for Habersham Board of Education.  Mr. Holbrook was a member of Clarkesville Masonic Lodge #325 F&AM and he also volunteered for the City of Clarkesville in Fire and Rescue.  Mr. Holbrook was a member and deacon of Hills Crossing Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Holbrook is preceded in death by his wife Stella Wall Holbrook, son Tommy Holbrook, brother Paris Holbrook, and great grandchildren Casey McCoy, Chade Holbrook, Little Shane Holbrook, and Lany Dan Stewart.   

Survivors include daughter Vicky Stewart of Clarkesville, son and daughter in law Sam and Margie Holbrook of Clarkesville, sister Sharon Garrett of Cleveland, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 2-4 PM and from 6-8 PM.
