W. Joe Park

W. Joe Park, age 94, of Buford, GA passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice Bailey Park; and daughters, Donna Jane Park and Melinda Kirk. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Margaret Yancy Park, Buford, GA; children, Myra Culbertson, Greenville, SC, Julie and Sammy Youngblood, Statham, GA, Rusty Park, Alton, GA, David and Leah Park, Cornelia, GA and Tim and Kayla Park, Buford, GA; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Mr. Park was born April 9, 1921 in Auburn, GA. He was retired from General Motors Chevrolet Division, Lakewood Plant after thirty years of service and was a member of the U.A. W. He was a retired security guard from Buford City School System. He was a Mason and member of the Buford Masonic Lodge No. 292 F. & A.M. for over sixty-two years. He was an active member, former deacon and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Buford where he had over fifty years of perfect attendance in Sunday school.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Buford, GA with a Masonic Graveside Service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Honorary Escort will be the Joe Avery Sunday school class of First Baptist Church of Buford.
