Juluia R. (Judy) Meeks

Juluia R. (Judy) Meeks, 75, of Flowery Branch passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Willow Wood Nursing Home following an extended illness.             

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Scott Wilson and Reverend Earl Pirkle will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.             

Mrs. Meeks was born on March 21, 1940 in Forsyth County to the late Elmus Emory Kemp and Mattie Lea Goss Kemp. She was retired from Mar-Jac Poultry and was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerome Meeks; daughter, Susan Meeks; brother, Juluis Kemp.

Mrs. Meeks is survived by her daughter, Nancy Simmons of Flowery Branch; son, Leslie Jerome Meeks II of Los Angeles, California; granddaughter, Haley Simmons; grandson, Jadon Simmons; sister and brother-in-law, Leon and Hubert Gibbs of Gainesville; sisters, Pat Wilson of Gainesville, Alice Hampton of Gainesville, Lucile Woodall of Gainesville; sister-in-law, Joan Kemp of Gainesville and a number of nieces and nephews.            

Flowers will be accepted but those who wish may make donations to Willow Wood Nursing Home 4595 Cantrell Rd. Flowery Branch 30542 or the Alzheimer’s Foundation 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346.
