Bobby “Bob” Clyde Phillips, 80, of Flowery Branch passed away on Monday, May 5, 2015 at Gwinnett County Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Stacy Phillips and Reverend Ted Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Phillips was born on June 1, 1934 in Forsyth County to the late, Clyde “Hut” and Annie Mae Stephens Phillips. He was retired from Roswell Collision Center. Previously he had owned his own body shop in Flowery Branch called S and T Body Shop. He currently worked for Cherokee Transport in Suwanee for over 8 years. Dad or “Grandpa” as he is known to the grandkids, was a committed Christian, husband, father and grandfather. He always worked very hard to provide for his family and take care of them. He was a member of Chattahoochee Baptist Church in Flowery Branch for 40 years and most recently a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Gainesville for approximately 10 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Don Phillips and Ronnie Phillips.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife of 61 years Billie Jo Phillips of Flowery Branch; daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Ted Williams of Buford; son and daughter-in-law, Reverend Stacy and Melissa Phillips of Gainesville; granddaughters, Hope and Hannah Phillips; grandson, John Alan Williams; granddaughter, Emmaline Williams; grandson, Andrew Williams; brother, Wayne Phillips of Flowery Branch.
