Paul Thomas Cantrell, Sr.

Paul Thomas Cantrell Sr., age 90, of Sautee, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Cantrell was born June 25, 1924 in Sautee to the late Elijah and Sarah Francis McClure Cantrell. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife Polly Cantrell, daughter Eula Mae Nix, 3 brothers and 6 sisters.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Doug Nix, Cleveland; Cathy and Bruce McGinnis, Cleveland; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Melinda Cantrell; Tony and Tressy Cantrell; Fritz and Carol Abernathy, all of Sautee; son-in-law and wife, Ellis and Virginia Nix, Sautee; sisters, Mary Bell Benfield, Batesville; Evelyn McDonald, Dahlonega; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday, May 4, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. Anthony Shore, the Rev. Benny Nix, Dr. Shannon Rhodes and the Rev. Brandon Hester will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
