Fay Consuelo “Connie” Smith Adams died Sunday May 3, 2015, after a brief illness. She was 91.
Connie was born August 9, 1923, in Atlanta, GA to William and Ellie Smith. She graduated from Commercial High School in Atlanta. After attending college, she worked for Sears and Roebuck in Atlanta. She married Odis Adams in 1951 and they had 3 children together. After raising her family, she continued her career as an executive secretary for several Atlanta businesses.
Connie was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother who was an inspiration to her family and all her knew her. She joyfully helped raise 2 granddaughters, delighting in all their accomplishments, as well as those of her other grandchildren. She was an active volunteer all her life, most recently working with a number of organizations and projects at her residence, Smoky Springs. She was an avid reader and served as the librarian for Smoky Springs during her 15 years there. Her family and friends will always remember her as kind and caring person who lived life to the fullest all of her 91 years.
Connie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Peggy Adams of Greensboro; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Howard Bradley of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law Richard and Sheila Adams of Hampton; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Odis Adams, and 12 brothers and sisters.
A graveside service is scheduled for May 6 at 11:00 at Sherwood Memorial Park, 6841 Tara Boulevard, Jonesboro, GA. Paul Aday will officiate. Visitation for family and friends will be held on May 5 from 2-4 at Little & Davenport Funeral Home, 355 Dawsonville Highway, Gainesville, GA 30501.
