Mrs. Shelba Dyer Whaley, age 74, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Friday May 1, 2015 at Northeast GA Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.
Shelba was born in Dahlonega, GA September 14, 1940. She retired from the Center for Disease Control after nearly 48 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Whaley was the daughter of the late Pearl Mae Ridley and Bonel Wilson Dyer.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, David Whaley, Dahlonega, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, David Neal Whaley Jr. and his wife Bobbie C. of Acworth, GA, David Edison Whaley and his wife Belinda, of Riverdale, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Barbara Dyer, Birmingham, AL; grandson, Jacob David Whaley. A number of other relatives also survive.
A graveside funeral service for Shelba is scheduled for 3 PM Sunday May 3, 2015 at Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rev. J R Fields will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Sunday May 3, 2015 from 1 PM until service time.
