Mrs. Sharon Elaine Duyck Palmer, age 58, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Tuesday April 28, 2015 at her home with her loving family at her bedside.
Sharon was a North Carolina native who had lived in Lumpkin County since 2001.
She worked for many years in healthcare administration. She was a devoted member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Lumpkin County. She loved her church family very much. She also served as President of Kinship Care of Lumpkin County.
Sharon was the daughter of the late Rex and Evelyn Dillingham Duyck.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Palmer, Dahlonega, GA; daughter, Shuny Rogers, Murphy, NC; sons, Shad Rogers and Shane Rogers, both of Asheville, NC; sister, Wanda Crowder, Asheville, NC; brother, Larry Duyck, Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Chase Millsaps, Nathaniel Rogers, Nicholas Davis, Evan Rogers, Pyper Cordell, and Camden Cordell.
Sharon was also legal guardian /mom to her grandchildren, Nathaniel Rogers and Nicholas Davis to whom she loved very much. She also loved her soccer family.
Numerous other relatives and a host of friends also survive
Funeral services for Sharon are scheduled for 2 PM Friday May 1, 2015 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.
Rev. Les Fuller, Rev. Lance Fuller, Rev. Stephen Gerrells, and Rev. Tim Hicks will officiate.
Burial will follow in Robbinsville, NC.
The family will receive friends at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church on Thursday April 30, 2015 from 5 PM until 9 PM and again on Friday May 1, 2015 from 12 Noon until 2 PM.
