Johnnie Raner Cisson

Mrs. Johnnie Raner Cisson, age 87 of Dahlonega passed away on April 29, 2015 at Gold City Nursing Facility following an extended illness.

A native of Port Gibson, Mississippi, Mrs. Cisson was born to parents John K. and Bessie Mullins Raner on October 24, 1927. She had resided in Marietta, Georgia for 40 years where she was employed by Lockheed Corporation in the planning department. She was a member of Fair Oaks Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cisson was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Eugene Cisson ,a daughter, Melba Jo Whitlock; sisters, Marion Penland and Ann Ballard, brothers; Kenneth Raner and Dudley Raner. She is survived by her son, Verlan Eugene (Sue) Cisson of Dahlonega, brothers; Bill (Edna) Raner of Lilburn,Georgia, Charles (Peggy) Raner of Alpharetta, Georgia, and George Raner of Port Gibson, Mississippi, son-in-law; Mike Whitlock of Hiram, Georgia, grandchildren; Ouida (Jason) Dunton, Jennifer (Mike) Maxwell, Megan (Tim) Swearingen and Gavin (Marci) Cisson. Eight great-grandchildren and other relatives also survive.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday May 16th, 2015 at the Fain Cemetery at 104 Anabel Ln, Calhoun, GA 30701. The family will receive friends Sunday May 3rd, 2015 from 2pm until 5pm at Dahlonega Funeral Home.
