Thelma Frances Abernathy Palmer, age 96 of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Palmer was born on May 2, 1918, in Jefferson, GA, to the late Robert and Lilly Queens Dills. She was a homemaker and a member of Chattahoochee United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by husbands, Paul Abernathy and Clifford Palmer; daughter, Lorene Franklin; step-daughter, Myra Jean Palmer; step son, Earl Palmer; 4 brothers; 2 sisters.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Bill Tingley, San Antonio, FL, Doris Abernathy, Chicago, IL; daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Roy Thomas, Cleveland, ; sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Pat Abernathy, Clermont, Truett and Pam Abernathy, Gainesville, ; step children, Charlene and Ernest Christy, Gerald and Jean Palmer, and Terry and Imogene Palmer, all of Cleveland, Mickey Bailey, Clayton; step son-in-law, Earl Palmer; 20 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dave Fortner and the Rev. Kevin Woody will officiate. Interment will follow at Chattahoochee United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
