Patricia 'Pat' Delores Mooney Brown

Patricia “Pat” Dolores Mooney Brown, 84, of Gainesville passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Kennestone Hospital following an extended illness.              

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Wendy Cordova will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown was born on April 11, 1931 in Richmond, VA to the late William Kennedy and Margaret Dolores Tierney Mooney. She was the owner of Ansley Hall of Cards and attended Gainesville First United Methodist Church. She was also a homemaker and a second mom to everyone. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Charles B. Brown.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughters, Debbie Brown of Lawrenceville, Pam Watkins and husband Steve of Kennesaw; son, Stuart Brown of Mineral Bluff, GA;  grandsons, Matt and Kyle Strashnick; brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Joyce Mooney of Mechanicsville, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Charles & Patricia Brown Scholarship, Virginia Tech Foundation, Virginia Tech, Gift Accounting (0336) 902 Prices Fork Road, Blacksburg, VA 24061.
