Lemma W. Swafford

Lemma W. Swafford, 87, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday April 26, 2015 at Gold City Convalescent Center following a period of declining health.

Born May 15, 1927 in Dawson County to the late Cooney and Bernice Wright, she lived in Smyrna 42 years before returning to Dawson County.  Lemma retired from Montag and Mead Paper Company after 40 years of service.  She was a member of Juno Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Diane Swafford, and a sister, Novella Wright.

Surviving are her husband of 69 years, Clain Swafford; special friends and caregivers, Tony and Karen Weaver, and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 28, 2015 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Tommy Weldy, Rev. Dennis Bottoms, Rev. Tim Biddy, and Rev. Gerral Richards will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Juno Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
