Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Gordon Bryan ‘Chop” Wood, age 56 of Dahlonega. Bryan passed away Monday, April 20, 2015. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00pm, Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in the funeral home with Rev. Jimmy Peck officiating. Interment will follow in Welcome Worship Center Cemetery .

“Chop” was born in Lumpkin County on September 27, 1958 to Allene Smith Wood and the late William Wood. To know Chop was to appreciate his sense  of humor and his outgoing personality. He could often be found barefoot at one of his favorite fishing holes or making one of his famous slingslots. Chop is preceded in death by his father William Wood. He is survived by his mother, Allene Wood of Dahlonega, sister, Regina Wood and brother Vince Wood both of Dahlonega, nieces and nephews, Jonathan Collis, William Christopher Garner, Elizabeth Sutton (Beth) and Kelly Marie Cullens, great nieces and nephews,Tyler, Nathan, Clayton and Jacob
