Ray Page, 89, of Clayton, GA, passed away at his residence April 16, 2015.
Ray was born in Rabun County, and was the son of the late Henry Miles Page and Fannie Turpin Page. He was a factory worker for Lathem Time Company for many years and after retiring from Lathem he worked for Sangamo Weston and A.I.D. in Rabun County.
Work was his favorite hobby but he did enjoy gardening, hunting, fishing, and he enjoyed watching his grandchildren, no matter what they were participating in. The one thing that was most important to Ray was the Lord. He was a dedicated servant of the Lord and served as a Deacon at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for many years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by 10 siblings and was the last surviving child of Henry and Fannie Page.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Speed Page; two sons, Raymond Page ( Debbie), Ronnie Page (Joi), both of Clayton, GA; two daughters, Patricia Coates of Clayton, GA, and Carol Simpson (Sam) of Waleska, GA. Thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Saturday Night from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday April 19, 2015 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Page, Rev. Harold Houck, and Rev. Lamar Gittens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
