James Lester Thompson

James Lester Thompson, 77, of Cleveland passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Chad Reed will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Thompson was born on February 25, 1938 in Gainesville to the late George Gower and Willie Barrett Thompson. He was retired from Lake Lanier Islands where he worked as a mechanic and was of Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Christine Ward Thompson.

Mr. Thompson is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Garry Hutchinson of Gainesville, Nina and Buddy Jackson of Gillsville; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Janet Thompson of Braselton; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Gary Ginn of Oakwood; Son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Suzannah Thompson of Gainesville; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
