Jeffery Scott 'Jeff' Whitmire

Jeffery Scott “Jeff” Whitmire, 53, of Gainesville passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with interment to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Reverend Brian Malcom will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Mr. Whitmire was born on October 4, 1961 in Gainesville to James Garnett and Ruth Margaret Jones Whitmire.  He graduated from East Hall High School and was employed at Wrigley’s for 33 years. He was a member of Free Chapel Worship Center. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter J. and Clara Mae Whitmire, and Raymond and Frances Jones.

Mr. Whitmire is survived by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Penny Whitmire of Gainesville; niece and husband, Brandie and Shane Martin of Gainesville; nephew, Brandon Whitmire of Gainesville; aunts, Mary Roper of Gainesville and Margie Whitmire of Gainesville; uncle and aunt, Jimmy and Marie Caufman of Commerce; aunt, Joanie Jones of Johns Creek and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
