Wayne Wood

Wayne Wood, age 65, of Winder, GA passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015.  He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Dean Wood; and grandparents, Dilmus and Mae Spain Wood, and Walter and Ollie Marr.  He is survived by his children, Buffy Wood McElhannon and husband Chris, Winder, GA, and Nakia and Kayla Wood, Dawsonville, GA; nine grandchildren, Kylee Smith, Blake Wood, Chandler Wood, Hunter Waters, Caryson Tate, Conner Wood, Makana Tate, Arabella Wood, and Max Wood; mother, Lois Marr Wood, Buford, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gayl and Billy Ray Kirkpatrick, Hoschton, GA, Sheila and Ronald Jackson, Auburn, GA, and Marilyn and Larry Goddard, Nicholson, GA; special friends, Joel and Vicki Davis; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Mr. Wood was born April 5, 1950 in Gainesville, GA.  He received his education at North Gwinnett High School.  He was a construction worker and member of Woods Grove Baptist Church, Auburn, GA.  Funeral service will be held Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Robinson officiating.  Interment will follow at Woods Grove Baptist Church, Auburn, GA.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Flanigan Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
