Herman Claude Day

Obituary Date: Wednesday, April 8, 2015

Herman Claude Day, 71, of Flowery Branch passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at his residence following and extended illness.

         

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Reverend Susan Maddox and Brother Steve Aanes will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 11 from 2-3:30 p.m. prior to the service.

         

Mr. Day was born on December 18, 1943 in Fowery Branch to the late Hansel Clifford and Ester Crow Day. He was retired from State Department of Transportation and was a member of Chicopee United Methodist Church. He was a 50 year member of the Flowery Branch Masonic Lodge #212, he was a former member of the Elks Club and of the Jaycee’s.

         

Herman was loved by all, and had a contagious personality that would draw others to him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara James Day; brothers, Denver Day and Hansel Clifford “Bo” Day Jr.

         

Mr. Day is survived by his wife, Deborah Day of Flowery Branch; son, Gary Herman Day (Sheila) of Flowery Branch; daughter, Ginger Day Adams (Andy) of Lilburn; granddaughters, Nicole Glatfelter of Phenix City, Alabama, and Natasha Queen of Flowery Branch; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Pheobe (George) Peck, Velma Orr, Annie Mae Millwood, Mary Wallace (Buddy) all of Flowery Branch, Marie Bartlett (Roy) of Gainesville and Brenda Tankersley (Buster) of Flowery Branch, a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

         

In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Chicopee UMC Prayer Garden Fund, 5 First St. Gainesville, GA 30504
