Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of
Joanne O’Neal Hibble of Cleveland passed away Thursday, April 9th, at
Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She was 85.
Joanne was born in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Bernard H. O’Neal and
Carrie Jim Newman O’Neal, both of Butts County, Georgia. She lived most
of her life in Atlanta and East Point, moving to Cleveland in 1990.
Affectionately known as “Moo Moo” by her two grandsons, she gladly
adapted to the rural life of White County after six decades of city living.
Joanne graduated from Girls High in Atlanta. She was a lifelong, active
member of the Baptist church, serving faithfully in Sylvan Hills, Dogwood
Hills, Helen and Cleveland Baptist Churches. She was passionate about
missions and worked tirelessly in GA’s and WMU.
Joanne married Walter L. Hibble in 1949 and was his loving wife for 64
years until his death in 2013.
She is survived by her daughter Debra H. McInvale and husband Morton R.
McInvale of Cleveland; son David L. Hibble and wife Patty Bennett Hibble
of Jacksonville, Florida; as well as grandsons James M. McInvale and
Travis M. Fuller.
Joanne was a true Southern lady: kind, gentle, loving, believing the best of
everyone and bringing out the best in every one. Her family was her joy.
And she made a positive influence on many lives.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 12, 2015 in the
funeral with interment following in Gateway Memory Park
Joanne was a breast cancer survivor so, in lieu of flowers, she would be
honored if donations are made in her memory to Relay for Life ?American
