Leslie 'Les' Harold Menzel

Mr. Leslie “Les” Harold Menzel, age 79 of 177 Memory Lane, Martin, Georgia passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at his residence. 

 

A son of the late Elmer and Helen Mulford Menzel, he was born March 26, 1936 in Essex County, New Jersey where he lived most of his life.  He retired from New Jersey Bell Telephone Company. He lived in Ellenton, Florida for a number of years and moved to Martin, Georgia in 2010.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of Restoration Tabernacle of Georgia, founded Fire Mountain Ministries in 1993 where he served as pastor.  He did all the cable work for the TV and news media for the VIII Olympic Winter Games in Squaw Valley, California.

 

Survivors include his wife of the home, Peggy Sue Baker Menzel; daughters and son-in-law, Lisa Menzel of Ohio and Sharon and Scott Noble of New Jersey; sons and daughter-in-law, David and Jammie Menzel of Pennsylvania and Gary Menzel of California; three step-sons, Richard and Tammy Holland of Florida, Steven Holland of Arkansas and Aaron and Carry Holland of Jasper, Georgia; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Brennan of Paable, New Jersey; and a number of nieces of nephews.

 

Memorial services will be Saturday, April 11, 3 O’clock PM at the Restoration Tabernacle of Georgia, Lavonia with the Reverend Ricky Bright officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fire Mountain Ministries, 177 Memory Lane, Martin, Georgia 30557 in memory of Mr. Leslie “Les” Harold Menzel.
