Dorothy Myrtlene Thomas

Mrs. Dorothy Myrtlene Thomas, age 87 of Maryville TN. formally of Cleveland passed away April 4, 2015.  Dorothy was born in Cleveland, GA on August 20, 1927 to the late Andrew and Eva Mae Boggs Hooper.  She worked for many years doing the bookkeeping for Davis-Washington Lumber Company.  Dorothy was a long time member of New Bridge Baptist Church and was very active with the Good Neighbor Circle at New Bridge.

She is preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Guy Franklin “Speedy” Thomas, daughter Myra Thomas Satterfield, daughter-in-law Sharon Chambers Thomas, and siblings Mae Hogan, Anna Lou Hunt, Wallace Hooper, Earl Hooper, Harold Hooper.  Dorothy is survived by her son, Joe Thomas; daughter and son in law; Anita and Lauren Kardatzke, grandchildren; Terrell Thomas, Whitney Thomas Cathey, Jessica Satterfield Holmes, Calyn Satterfield Woodfin, Seth Satterfield, Ethan Satterfield, Ben Satterfield, Christen Kardatzke, Lindsey Kardatzke,  and 12 great grandchildren

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 06, 2015 from 6 until 8 PM.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home in chapel on Tuesday, April 07, 2015 at 2 PM with the Rev. Milton Harris officiating.  Interment will be held at New Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Hospice of Blount County TN. or to your local hospice.
