Earlene Sanford Hicks, age 66, of Dahlonega, GA died Sunday April 5, 2015 at her home.
Earlene was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, a homemaker, and was of the Baptist faith.
One of the greatest women ever known! She has helped so many in good times and bad! You will be greatly missed by so many! We love you “Coonie” up to the heavens.
She was the daughter of the late Earl Grady Sanford Sr. and Edna Mary Wood Sanford and was also preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Hicks; brother, Earl Sanford Jr. and sister, Thelma Edwards.
She is survived by brothers Horace Sanford, Dahlonega, GA and John Sanford, Jackson, GA; sister Alma Morgan, Dahlonega, GA; nieces and nephews, Sally McElduff, Frances Cleghorn, Kaye Cagle, Tenny Roper, Sissy Bryan, Ray Sanford, Renee Dodd, Todd Sanford, Horace Sanford Jr., and Shirley Steiner; special great-nieces, Nina Fields, Bobbie McElduff, and Marti Almond; special friend, Mary Hall; sister-in-law, Dot Sanford. Numerous other relatives also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.
Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Tommy Ross, and Rev. Bo Robinson will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Dawson County.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Monday April 6, 2015 from 4 PM until 9 PM and again on Tuesday from 10 AM until service time.
