Elsie Churchwell Vasser

Elsie Churchwell Vasser, age 88, of Cornelia , Georgia, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at a local assisted living facility.

Mrs. Vasser was born April 19, 1926, in Habersham County, to the late Elsie Berry and David Churchwell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Vasser; sister, Vivian Warren; and brothers, Earl Paul and Guy Churchwell.

She is survived by her son, David Vasser of Badin, NC; and son and daughter-in-law Paul and Alicia Vasser of Baldwin, GA; grandchildren Jacob Vasser, Haley Rae, and Dawson Vasser. She was the last of her birth family.

Mrs. Vasser was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cornelia, Phebean Sunday School Class, Helping Hands, and Woodmen of the World. She treasured her church, family, friends and her flower garden. She was a retired secretary in the Department of Human Resources at the Lee Arrendale State Prison with 20 years service.
