Velma Allene Fowler

Velma Allene Fowler Day, 98, of Cumming, GA passed away at her residence on Thursday, April 2, 2015.  She was born in Forsyth County, GA to the late Warren and Fannie Pruitt Fowler.  She is also preceded in death by her husband Thurston Day; sisters, Violet Fowler and Estlene Fowler Parks; brothers, Bradford Fowler, Bud Fowler and Willard Fowler. Velma is survived by her sister Frances Fowler Hammond.

Velma was a faithful and Godly woman who showed love and kindness to everyone she knew. Her favorite book was the Bible, which she read from cover to cover many times during her long life. She enjoyed working in her yard and in her flower beds, and was always quick to whip up a pan of her delicious biscuits when family would visit.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, April 6, 2015 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 6 from 10:00am – 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm until the hour of service.
