Betty Jean Styles

Betty Jean Styles, 83, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday April 1, 2015 at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Born April 23, 1931 to the late Erastus and Lucile Styles, Ms. Styles had been a resident of Dawson County all of her life.  A member of Bethel United Methodist Church, she retired from the Dawson County School System where she spent her entire career as a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent.

Surviving are her sister, Anne Styles, Kennesaw; brother, Steve Styles, Dawsonville; step-sisters, Betty Christie Humphries, Cleveland, Anne Christie Kent, Cleveland, Eva Christie Nix, Cleveland, Linda Christie Leslie, Cleveland; step-brother, James Christie, Florida; special friend, Robert Hardin, Dawsonville; a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be held Saturday April 4, 2015 at 3 o’clock at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Phil DeMore will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday April 3, 2015 from 4 until 8.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to benefit Dawson County Schools be made to the Betty Jean Styles Memorial Fund at Community & Southern Bank, 4300 Dawson Forest Road East, Dawsonville, GA 30534.
