Cynthia Elizabeth (née Williams) Hilliard, resident of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Martin, GA, passed away on March 29, 2015 after several months of illness.
Cynthia was born on March 21, 1929 in the family home in Martin, GA to Copeland and Flora Yow Williams. Cynthia attended Washington Seminary in Atlanta, The Southern Seminary for Girls in Buena Vista, VA, and the Simple Finishing School in New York City while studying at the New York School of Ballet. She then attended the University of Georgia. Cynthia married John Warren Hilliard on November 4, 1950 at the Martin Baptist Church and devoted her life to her beloved husband and children. She had a flair for the dramatic and was a gifted teller and writer of stories and poems. She was young at heart and found humor in everything. Cynthia was very much the Southern lady. She welcomed everyone with her beautiful smile and made people feel important. She was dearly loved by all. She placed great importance on family history and was a proud member of the DAR. Her extended family was very large, but she managed to keep up with everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband and three infant sons.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Ann (Mark) LaRoza and Rebecca (Charles) Isiminger, and her grandchildren, Curry Isiminger, Betsy Anne (Michael) Moraguez, and Millie Isiminger, and brother, Thomas Russell Yow (Margie) Williams, Sr., and many others.
Graveside services will be Saturday, 2:30 PM at Martin Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Joe White officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 noon to 2:00 PM at Acree-Davis Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
Interment will be in the Martin Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Cynthia Elizabeth Williams Hilliard.
