Mr. Walter George Mussler, age 90 of South Panther Creek Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Stephens County Hospital.
A son of the late Walter Joseph and Mildred Mary Hampel Mussler, he was born October 19, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri having lived most of his life in Stone Mountain, Georgia and moved to Lavonia, Georgia in 1993 and later years in Clarkesville and Toccoa. He was a United States Army World War II Veteran. He was an Electrical Engineer, having retired from Kearney Company in Atlanta, Georgia after 30 years of service, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Clarkesville, member of the VFW Post 4346 and the Lavonia AARP. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Marie Mussler in 1989.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Edith Lancaster Mussler; son, Mark George Mussler of Jacksonville, Florida; step-daughter and her husband, Carole and Jack Turlington of Toccoa; step-sons, David Clayton of London, England and Randy Clayton of Wilmington, Delaware; three step-granddaughters, Stephanie, Joelle and Hannah; brother, Allan Mussler of Irving, Texas; sister, Jane Mussler of Senton, Missouri.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, April 7, 2015, 11 O’clock AM at the First Presbyterian Church Clarkesville with The Reverend Lisa Graves officiating. A reception will follow the service in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Clarkesville, 181 Jefferson Street, Clarkesville, Georgia 30523 in memory of Mr. Walter George Mussler.
Interment will be in St. Paul’s Church Yard, St. Louis, Missouri at a later date.
