Henry B. (Hank) Ewing

Obituary Date: Monday, March 30, 2015
Mr. Henry B. "Hank" Ewing, 88 of Gainesville died Monday March 30, 2015 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born in Commerce, Georgia Mr. Ewing had lived in Hall County for a number of years. He was the son of the late James Charlie and Una Gertrude Goss Ewing. He was retired from Atlanta Linen Service and also retired from the Hall County School System where he works as a custodian at North Hall Middle School. Mr. Ewing served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughter, Barbara Ross, Athens; daughter and son-in-law, Betty Lawson Gurganus and Harry Gurganus, Gainesville; daughter, Anita Kay Lawson, Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Lisa Lawson, Gainesville; Steve and Susan Ewing, Hampton; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews; sisters, Betty Collins and Alice McGriff, both of Atlanta.

Mr. Ewing is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Lawson Ewing.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday April 1, 2015 at Lakewood Baptist Church. Dr. Tom Smiley, Dr. Jerry Gill and Rev. Don Ormsbee will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home and Crematory Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Mr. Ewings remains will be placed in state at the church Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Lakewood Baptist Church Building Fund, 2235 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, Ga. 30501.
