Richard 'Dick' Edward Brewer

Richard "Dick" Edward Brewer, 92, of Clayton, GA, passed away at his home, Sunday 29, 2015. He was born February 13, 1923, and was the son of Jarrell Hogg Brewer and Grace Hamby Brewer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jarrell Sloan Brewer; and three sisters, Jean B. Lynch, Rebecca B. Twight, and Genelle B. Brown.



He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carolyn Carnes Brewer, stepson, Albert Lewis Francis of Clayton, GA; stepdaughter, Teresa Ann Addis and her husband C. Mike Addis of Lakemont, GA, two sisters, Carolyn Brewer James of Clayton, GA, and Julia Brewer Ritchie of Flowery Branch, GA. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Beverly Rebecca Peterson, Natalie Caroline Robinson, Anthony Theodore Robinson; one step-grandchild, Joshua Addis; and one great-grandchild, Winry Elizabeth Louise Robinson.



Mr. Brewer was a veteran of World War II having served his country in the US Army, He worked, as a surveyor, for the US Forest Service for 31 years and was a member of Clayton Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Mens Friendship Sunday School class. He was an avid fisherman and turkey hunter. He also made his own turkey callers.



The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, Thursday, April 2, 2015. Funeral Services will follow visitation at 3:00 PM in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dexter James officiating. Burial will follow in Mozeley Memorial Cemetery, Clayton, GA.



Honorary Pallbearers will be member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and employees and retirees of the US Forest Service.



Memorial donations, in Richard "Dick" Brewer's memory, may be made to a church of choice or to Regency Hospice, P.O. Box 494, Hiawassee, GA 30546.
