Doris Wheeler Corn

Obituary Date: Saturday, March 21, 2015



Doris Wheeler Corn, age 90, a native and lifelong resident of Forsyth County, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015. She was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church and graduated from the Cumming High School in 1943.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Wilson Corn in 1997, celebrating 51 years of marriage together since their wedding on December 8, 1945. Together, they owned and operated Corn's Furniture & Appliance Company in Cumming for many years, first opening in 1953. Doris loved studying the bible, sewing, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.



She was also preceded in death by her parents; Luther A. Wheeler and Victoria Hammond Wheeler; brothers and sister, Horace, Rudolph, Harold, and Betty Lee Wheeler; brothers-in-law, Weldon, Amon, and Pierce Corn, and Herman Martin.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law of Cumming, Gary and Gail Corn, and David Corn; grandchildren, Lisa and Matt Collett, Bryan and Jennifer Corn, Linnea Corn, and Bobby and Laura Corn; great-grandchildren, Seth and Brayden Collett, Wilson and Vera Corn, and Shelby Corn; sister and brothers-in-law, Mary Wheeler Martin, Ernest Corn, and Lendon (Duffy) Ivey; along with extended relatives, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until time of service. Interment will be in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Tuesday, March 24, from 5 - 9 pm and Wednesday, March 25, from 2:30 until time of service.
