Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Carl Elbert "Coody" Gibbs, age 67, of Pendergrass Georgia, who entered into rest Saturday, March 22, 2015. Mr. Gibbs was born in Gainesville, Georgia the son of the late Charles Eugene and Nellie Fay Spain Gibbs and was a retired automotive mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Jo Pressley Gibbs of Pendergrass, son: Scottie Elbert Gibbs and his wife Lisa of Gainesville. Two sisters; Diane Roper and Charlene Young of Gainesville, brother, Eugene Gibbs and his wife Joan of Gainesville. Four grandchildren, Josh, Michael, Jamie and Cierra.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from The Church of God, Commerce, Georgia with Reverend Louis Gaddis officiating with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Lonnie McDaniel, Jr., Josh Gibbs, Michael Gibbs, Larry Ray Howard, Edward Lee McDaniel and James Douglas McDaniel. The family will receive friends at The Church of God, 4407 Woodsbridge Road, Commerce, Georgia beginning at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 up to the funeral hour on Wednesday.
