Gold W. Martin, age 61, of Dawsonville, GA and formerly of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015. He is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Bettie McDaniel Martin, Dawsonville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Carrie Martin, Epworth, GA; step children, Sharon Kelly, Buford, GA and Sheri and Tom Hinton, Flowery Branch, GA; grandchildren, Logan Martin, Jacob DeCamp, Luke DeCamp and Erik Knudsen; great granddaughters, Lanie Knudsen and Brynn Knudsen; brothers and sister-in-law, Troy Martin, Chattanooga, TN and Jerry and Kim Martin, Charlottesville, VA; sisters and brother-in-law, Charlotte Dixon, Suwanee, GA, Shirley and Bill Johnson, Columbus, GA and Robin Boehning, Copperhill, TN; special aunt, Helen Hubble, Buford, GA; brother-in-law, Terry McDaniel, Dawsonville, GA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joan and Trent Costley, Buford, GA, Rita Moore, Dawsonville, GA and Pam and Dave Pargoff, Gainesville, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Martin was born May 24, 1953 in Copperhill, TN. He was a 1971 graduate of Copper Basin High School and attended Tri County College. He was employed with Metal Building Associates in Suwanee for thirty years. He was a member of the Buford American Legion Post 127 and was a member of Coletown Baptist Church in Copperhill, TN. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with military honors by the Buford American Legion Post 127. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. No flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Bettie McDaniel Martin to help with funeral expenses in memory of Gold W. Martin.
