Grovie Mae Warren

Grovie Mae Warren, age 89, of Suches, GA passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 following an extended illness.

Grovie was a lifelong resident of Suches, GA and a homemaker who raised 8 children. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. She only weighed 3 pounds when she was born, and was so small that her grandpa had to carry her in a bucket. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church # 2 in Suches.

The daughter of the late Welborn and Victoria Garrett, Mrs. Warren was also preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Warren; daughter, Irene Warren; grandson, Justin Warren; and brother, J.W. Garrett.

She is survived by her children, Walter Warren, Braselton, GA; Fran Brown, Alto, GA; Wanda King, Newborn, GA; Wilma Cochran, Cleveland, GA; Jesse Warren, Suches, GA; Willonell Harkins, Cleveland, GA; Harley Warren, Cumming, GA; and Maxie Montgomery, Lula, GA; brothers, Cline Garrett and Monroe Garrett; sisters, Napper Moose and Lillian Cain, all of Suches, GA. 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a number of other relatives also survive.

A graveside service for Grovie is scheduled for 2 PM on Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Suches, GA.

Chaplain Robert Belin will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 4 PM until 8 PM on Sunday, March 22, 2015.
