John H. Allen

John H. Allen, age 85 of Cleveland, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015. Mr. Allen was born in Atlanta, GA on May 23, 1929 to the late John Sr. and Zola McCarey Allen. He served his country with honor in the US Navy during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge from the US Navy he went to work with the Dekalb County Maintenance Department. Mr. Allen always had special interests in cars and music.

He is preceded in death by his parents as well as children Roy Leach, Richard Leach Sr., James Fincher, and sister, Virginia Allen. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife Minna Allen; children, Kathrine Weakley, Sue Constant, Johnny Leach, and Mary Henderson; sister, Frances Blair; grandchildren David Weakley, Billy Weakley, and Jessica Keeble as well as 8 other grandchildren; great grandchildren, Isaac Weakley, Hayden Weakley, and 3 other great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 7 until 9 PM and on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 2 until 3 PM. Funeral services will be held at Solid Rock Baptist Church on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 4 PM with David Weakley and the Revs. Len Land, Marty Murphy, Charles Grant officiating. Interment will be in Solid Rock Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the White County Honor Guard.
